Personnel Changes

1) Director & Executive Officers

Mazda Motor Corporation today announced that Stephen Odell has been appointed Senior Managing Executive Officer in charge of Marketing, Sales and Customer Service (effective May 1, 2003), replacing David Thomas. Thomas will be returning to Ford Motor Company, and his new role will be the subject of a future announcement by Ford.

Stephen Odell has served as President, Mazda Motor Europe, and Executive Officer, Mazda Motor Corporation, since January 2002. Replacing Odell is Dan Morris, currently Vice President, Sales, Mazda Motor Europe. He will assume the role of President, Mazda Motor Europe, effective May 1, 2003. Morris has played a leading role in the sales growth in Mazda Motor Europe since he joined the company in July 2001. His replacement will be the subject of a future announcement by Mazda Motor Europe.

Odell joined Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) in January 2000 as Vice President, Marketing and Sales. In November 2000, he was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of MNAO, with responsibility for sales, marketing, customer service and parts operations. Prior to joining Mazda, Odell served as Vice President, Marketing and Sales for Jaguar North America.

Odell was born in London, England, in 1955 and holds a degree from Brighton University, England.

Morris, born 1956, joined Mazda Motor Europe in July 2001, having previously held a number of senior roles at Ford Motor Company, including Regional Sales Manager and Product Marketing Manager. He graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1978 and holds a Masters in Business Administration from Clarkson College.
