―35―“TAKUMINURI”In our painting process in which a lot of CO2 is emitted, we are making a challenge for process innovation and production engineering development to further accelerate environmental activities in the vehicle manufacturing process. Based on the idea that “Color is a part of design”, Mazda has been pursuing colors to make the KODO Design look even more beautiful. TAKUMINURI which realizes beautiful painting that looks like craftsman’s meticulous hand painting in production line has continued to evolve, while making a lot of engineering e■orts combining design and environmental performance. To celebrate the 10th anniversary milestone from the production start of the first TAKUMINURI color, “Soul Red Premium Metallic,” we developed “Artisan Red Premium Metallic” which is a new TAKUMINURI color that conveys a message as mature and deepened Mazda brand.This article looks back on the TAKUMINURI technologies that have been evolving over the decade and introduces challenges in the “Artisan Red Premium Metallic” development that reflects skills we have cultivated Key words：Materials, Paint, Process, Design, Color, Development, Artisan Red Premium Metallicthrough the TAKUMINURI color development to date.Painting, Trim & Final Assembly Engineering Dept.Design Div.Shuji HozanTakakazu YamaneBody Development Dept.Vehicle Testing & Research Dept.Natsumi MimuraRyuji NonakaKeiichi Okamoto1. はじめにFurther Evolution of Mazda’s Unique Paint Engineering 特集：MAZDA CX9007要 約 車両製造工程の中でも多くのCO2を排出している塗装工程では，一貫して環境への取り組みを継続しており，更なる進化に向けた工程革新や生産技術開発に取り組んでいる。その中でマツダは「カラーも造形の一部」という考え方の基，魂動デザインの造形をより美しく見せるためのカラーを追求してきた。職人が丁寧に手塗りしたような美しい塗装を量産ラインで実現する「匠塗」は，意匠性と環境性能を両立させながら，これまで多くの技術的な課題に取り組み，その進化を続けてきた。今回，「匠塗」カラー第1弾のソウルレッドプレミアムメタリックの生産開始から10周年の節目を迎えるにあたり，ブランドの熟成・深化をメッセージに込めた新たな「匠塗」カラーであるアーティザンレッドプレミアムメタリックを開発した。 本稿では，10年という年月の中で進化してきた匠塗技術の軌跡を振り返ると同時に，これまでの「匠塗」カラー開発で培ってきた技術を織り込んだアーティザンレッドプレミアムメタリックの取り組みについて紹介する。Abstract マツダは「カラーも造形の一部」という考え方に基づき，魂動デザインの造形を光の陰影によって際立たせる「匠塗（TAKUMINURI）」カラーを開発し，お客様にお届けしてきた。2012年にアテンザへ導入した「ソウルレッドプレミアムメタリック」（1）を皮切りに，「マシーング*1 車両技術部 *3 デザイン本部 寳山 修士*1三村 夏海*2岡本 圭一*3山根 貴和*4野中 隆治*5レープレミアムメタリック」，「ソウルレッドクリスタルメタリック」（2），「ロジウムホワイトプレミアムメタリック」（3）の量産を経て，匠塗10周年を迎えた2022年，新たな匠塗カラーである「アーティザンレッドプレミアムメタリック」を開発し，MAZDA 6へ導入した。続く2023年にCX90へ導入した（Fig. 1）。 CX90のデザインは，「引き算の美学」によるシンプ*2,5 ボデー開発部 *4 車両実研部 マツダ独自の塗装技術「匠塗」のさらなる進化
