Mazda's fully redesigned minivan, the new MPV, has been developed based on the voice of our customers around the world. In addition to its sporty, high quality and unique appearance, this model's insightful and highly efficient packaging offers roomy interior space and ample luggage space. New ideas incorporated throughout the MPV are the result of in-depth surveys conducted in each market of the world. The model name"MPV" is identically used in all markets.

Distinctive Design

The MPV's exterior design features a sportier and slanted body silhouette. The character lines on the hood symbolize our "Contrast in Harmony" design theme. Incorporation of our family face, comprised of a five-point grille with the Mazda brand symbol, and use of brighter multi-crystal head-lamps and a chrome front grille enhance the sense of quality.

In considering interior design, the lower positioned instrument panel conveys unity with the door trim, while the V-shaped tapered center console creates spacious leg room.

Exceptional Functionality

Adopting the FF (Front-engine/Front-wheel-drive) layout, the new MPV has succeeded in realizing highly efficient packaging that provides maximum interior space within a moderate length.

The outstanding flexibility of the Mazda MPV allows many permutations in seating arrangements. With all seats in their standard position to accommodate up to seven occupants, there is still plenty of space for luggage. The flat floor also makes it easy to transport long items such as skis, snowboards or fishing equipment. Useful features include special seatback panels, which allow folded seats to be used as tables, plus the inclusion of a multitude of storage spaces and cupholders. To ensure excellent visibility throughout the vehicle, each successive row of seats is set higher.

Beyond the spacious and versatile interior that ensures comfort and convenience, the MPV is further equipped with a climate control system with separate rear controls, plus a high-quality, integrated audio system.

The sliding doors on both sides minimize move-out when opened, which makes getting in and out easier for passengers when parked in a confined space. An easy closure mechanism helps the door to close securely. In addition, the sliding doors feature power windows and give a sense of openness for rear passengers.

Responsive Handling and Performance

Customer choices include a new 2.5-liter V6 engine that demonstrates powerful torque in the low- and medium-velocity ranges or a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, together, providing optimum performance and fuel efficiency. Front and rear suspension deliver both stable handling and a comfortable ride.

The new MPV employs an advanced highly rigid and safety body, and further enhances the rigidity through enlarging the cross-sectional area of each pillar and strengthening the rear gate area. The use of damping materials on adequate places enhances quietness. With high-performance brakes, the new MPV provides customers around the world with solid driving and handling stability as well as a quiet ride.
