The all new Premacy has been developed as a new genre of passenger car bringing enjoyment and new dimensions to our customers' lives. Featuring a compact body size, yet spacious interior, its excellent versatility enables flexible seating arrangements. Superb handling performance equivalent to that of a sedan provides drivers with full driving enjoyment. These and other features make Premacy distinct from conventional sedans and recreational vehicles. Derived from the English word "Supremacy," the name "Premacy" has been adopted worldwide to strengthen Mazda's global brand image.

Distinctive Design

The Premacy incorporates a dynamic and functional design based on our "Contrast in Harmony" design theme, featuring an active and youthful exterior and open and comfortable interior. Its trapezoid body emphasizes strength and stability. The five-point grille with Mazda's brand symbol expresses Mazda's family face. The character line of the hood with its short overhang improves front visibility and ease of driving.

The interior color schemes use two-tone grays for a youthful image. The instrument panel features a convex center portion that conveys a free and easy feeling. Portions of the panel and door trim feature modern textures with metallic colors or dimpled surface.

Exceptional Functionality

The Premacy has the "right" size body that provides everyday convenience for driving and handling performance of a sedan and combines a roomy interior with high utility and the visibility of a mini-van. Further, the upright seating position contributes to a comfortable traveling environment. The large door and rear tailgate openings are designed to make it easy to get in and out and facilitate cargo loading and unloading.

Another feature of the Premacy is versatile interior arrangement functionality. Available as a two-row and five-passenger model or three-row and seven-passenger model, the second-row seats slide forward and back, while in the latter version, the lightweight third row can be easily removed. Users can tailor the interior arrangement based on the number of passengers and the cargo volume for both everyday and special-use purposes.

The Premacy is equipped with an optional air filter with Mazda-developed aldehyde capture material, "Life Breath," commercialized for the first time in the world for automotive use. This material converts aldehyde into a harmless substance through a chemical reaction and is approximately 100 times more effective than activated charcoal.

Responsive Handling and Performance

Thanks to its superior chassis performance and highly rigid body, the Premacy provides excellent handling stability and driving comfort equivalent to a sedan.

Equipped with a 1.8-liter DOHC engine with a variable-inertia air intake system, the Premacy provides high output over the entire operating range, from slow to fast speeds. The electronically controlled EGR contributes to improved fuel efficiency while reducing CO2 and NOx emissions.

The rigidity of the suspension support section has been increased, especially in the rear, so as not to be affected by changes in the passenger or cargo load. The result is a solid, comfortable ride along with stable maneuverability as the car faithfully responds to the driver's commands.
