| To achieve a smoother, safer, and more comfortable transportation system, the public and private sectors have come together in large-scale projects known as ASV, led by the Ministry of Transport, and AHS, headed by the Ministry of Construction. As a participant in several of the development initiatives associated with these projects, Mazda is conducting research aimed at building the transportation systems of the future. |

| New Models Incorporating Mazda Brand DNA |
| During fiscal year 2000, we clarified and defined our brand personality, or Mazda brand DNA. Mazda brand DNA is described by three personality attributes-stylish, insightful and spirited. To reinforce how our products relate to the DNA, we also defined key product attributes of distinctive design, exceptional functionality and responsive handling and performance. Based on these guidelines, several new models and freshened models, which incorporate the distinctiveness of Mazda vehicles, were launched during fiscal 2000 and shortly thereafter. |

| Premacy |
| In April 1999, we introduced the all-new Premacy in Japan and later in Europe. The Premacy is a new genre of passenger car bringing enjoyment and new dimensions to our customers' lives. The versatile and stylish Premacy has a compact body, yet spacious interior with flexible seating arrangements. It provides superb handling performance, equivalent to a sedan. The first model to embody Mazda brand DNA and our contrast in harmony design theme, Premacy also includes Mazda's family face featuring a five-point grille and Mazda brand symbol. |

| MPV |
| The all-new MPV, developed based on the voices of our customers throughout the world, is a stylish, multi-purpose vehicle which accommodates up to seven people. In addition, the new MPV ensures excellent visibility throughout the vehicle, provides a roomy interior and ample luggage space, and delivers stable handling and a comfortable ride. Mazda introduced MPV in Japan in June 1999, in the United States in Summer 1999 and in Europe in Fall 1999. |

| Bongo Van/Truck |
| In June 1999, Mazda introduced the new Bongo Van/Truck in Japan. The new Bongo features a cab-over-body design with the engine under the front seat and offers outstanding maneuverability. The highly efficient packaging of the body provides the Bongo with best-in-class cargo space. |

| Titan |
| In June 2000, Mazda introduced the all-new Titan cab-over truck in the domestic market. Based on extensive customer research, the new Titan has a number of significant improvements, including a spacious and comfortable cabin, enlarged cargo platform, functional and easy-to-use interior and instrument panel, superb handling stability and enhanced ride comfort. With these advancements the Titan is expected to serve as the best business partner for commercial-use customers, regaining market share in this segment in Japan. |

| Millenia |
| In July 2000, Mazda introduced the enhanced Millenia into the domestic market. Millenia is a luxurious sporty sedan that has received high praise in Japan and overseas. The new Millenia excels in Mazda Dynamic DNA, which is fast becoming the nucleus for all Mazda passenger cars. Dynamic DNA equates with the experience of jinba ittai-or oneness between the car and driver. Mazda has made improvements which truly echo the voice of the customer while incorporating Mazda brand attributes. The exterior is sportier with a new hood, fenders and headlights configuration. The body and suspension have all been upgraded to provide a new level of driving pleasure. The new Millenia is also equipped with a DVD navigation system compatible with the Mazda Telematics information service. The new Millenia will be introduced overseas in Fall 2000. |

| Roadster (MX-5, Miata) |
| The best just got better with the introduction of the new Roadster in Japan in July 2000. Incorporating a series of major improvements, including a sportier exterior design, the new Roadster is equipped with a new powerful 1.8 liter engine and increased body rigidity for superb driving performance the realization of Mazda Dynamic DNA.
Roadster was noted as the world's top-selling, lightweight, open two-seater sports car model by Guinness World Records of the U.K. The production of Roadster began in April 1989, with sales exceeding 565,000 units as of the end of June 2000. The new Roadster will be introduced into the North American market in Fall 2000. |
