Mazda Lantis was launched in 1993 as a sporty compact. Introduced to the same segment as the Mazda Familia, the Lantis was given an athletic, unique form and ample cabin space with excellent chassis and safety performance. Mazda’s Lantis TV commercial showing the Lantis in a crash test to emphasize safety was much talked about back then. The 2-liter V6 engine with a quality feel completed the ingenious packaging Mazda developed for this car. The five-door hatchback Lantis Coupe entered touring car races in Japan.
