It took nine years for Mazda to launch the second-generation Mazda Roadster. Keeping responsive, almost intuitive driving experience and refreshing open-top driving intact, Mazda evolved the car with much improved ride comfort and safety with enhanced sportiness. Fixed headlights were intended to improve forward visibility, aerodynamics and weight reduction. In 1999, a year after the second-generation went on sale, Mazda produced and launched a special edition Roadster with global specifications in a limited quantity of 7,500 units to commemorate the model’s 10th anniversary. For the second-generation NB-type Roadster, Mazda explored diverse possibilities by offering a coupe and turbo-powered model.

For a long time, my dream was to buy and drive the Porter Van. Meeting with other fans and owners to celebrate the 50th anniversary is a wonderful memory that I will never forget.
Since I discovered the CX-8, I began to deeply appreciate Mazda’s manufacturing philosophy.
