The third-generation Mazda Roadster (NC) was launched seven years after the second-generation hit the market. To keep up with the latest environmental and safety requirements, the car was designed from scratch and was given the newly developed 2-liter engine. Styling was updated to something more modern and familiar, yet Mazda’s "Jinba-ittai" development concept and the car’s unique "fun-to-drive" were maintained. In 2006, a year after the launch, Mazda added the power retractable hardtop model equipped with revolutionary power roof system that does not invade the boot space. The special edition commemorating the Roadster’s 20th anniversary went on sale in 2009.

Whenever I drive from Hiroshima to Okayama to visit my grandparents, the R360 Coupe had always been my partner on the road.

For a long time, my dream was to buy and drive the Porter Van. Meeting with other fans and owners to celebrate the 50th anniversary is a wonderful memory that I will never forget.

Since I discovered the CX-8, I began to deeply appreciate Mazda’s manufacturing philosophy.
