In 1991, Mazda launched a new model called the Mazda CRONOS. A 2-liter four-door sedan with a global demand, the CRONOS was set to become Mazda’s key four-door sedan. Named after a Greek God of time Cronos (Cronus), the Mazda CRONOS was wider than the Capella. Powered by the new high-performance V6 engine, the car offered ride comfort and spaciousness not found in other cars in the segment. Sold in the overseas market as Mazda 626, its ample interior that seats four adults in comfort and aerodynamic, sleek styling won customer’s support and enjoyed strong sales.

For a long time, my dream was to buy and drive the Porter Van. Meeting with other fans and owners to celebrate the 50th anniversary is a wonderful memory that I will never forget.
Since I discovered the CX-8, I began to deeply appreciate Mazda’s manufacturing philosophy.
