Mazda decided to give its new compact, 7-seater minivan a global name Premacy. With 3 rows of seats in a compact body with a total length of 4.3 meters, the Premacy was given a highly efficient packaging and diverse seating arrangements to fit different lifestyles. The car was launched with an advertising tagline "7-seater Capsule". Based on Mazda’s new brand message "New Ideas that Stir Your Emotions", Mazda presented the Premacy as a completely new-genre car. The Mazda Premacy was a first new model that received Mazda’s family face – the five-point grille and the brand symbol placed at the center.
